4-LOM was a protocol droid in The Empire Strikes Back who overwrote their programming to take on a life of crime. During the mids 1990s Nigo and Jun Takahashi stole “4-LOM” for a smart magazine column showcasing their favorite things, introducing brands, and eventually promoting themselves and their store.
